Recovery Community Centers

Recovery Community Centers (RCCs) are community-based, peer-run organizations that offer resources and compassionate support for individuals, no matter what phase of use or recovery they may be in. RCCs are not treatment centers but can connect people to treatment or other recovery resources, depending on their needs. Their focus is on meeting people where they are and helping individuals increase their recovery capital, build hope, and sustain their long-term recovery goals.

The first state-funded RCCs opened in 2018 under the Missouri Opioid State Targeted Response Grant: MoNetwork, Springfield Recovery Community Center, Healing House, and the St. Louis Empowerment Center. These first four RCCs continue to be funded under the Missouri State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant. After the proven success of RCCs, 4 additional RCCs opened in 2022: Landmark Recovery Center, We Do Recover Community Center, LIFE Recovery Center, and The Re-entry Opportunity Center. These RCCs began with block grant funding from SAMHSA but have continued to operate with the support of the Missouri Department of Mental Health’s general revenue. In 2024, 4 more RCCs opened with the support of the Department of Health and Senior Services Cannabis Tax Funds: The Pier, Beacon of Hope, We Do Recover Community Center – Sikeston, and The Recovery Outreach Community Center.
